Rodallega takes a swipe at Santa Fe's critics: "Now it's your turn to keep quiet and support Medellín."

Hugo Rodallega knows no bounds. He's still going strong, still scoring goals, and in what a way. He's the top scorer in the Betplay League and led Santa Fe to the championship final, which they'll play against Medellín. At the end of the derby against Millonarios, euphoric and in pain from the heavy blow he received to the face, Hugo spoke up.
In the derby against Millonarios, Santa Fe came out to devour their opponent. They pressed, pushed forward, and in no time were up 2-0, a lead they managed wisely. Rodallega was once again instrumental, scoring the first goal and assisting the second.

At the end of the match, Hugo suffered a severe collision with Helibelton Palacios, leaving both players lying on the grass. He then got up and, at the final whistle, went to celebrate in the south stand with the red fans who had attended the derby. Afterward, euphoric, he spoke with Win Sports.
"We talked it over among ourselves. The group was committed, dedicated to defending this jersey. There was a lot of talk about other teams. No one believed in this team, no one gave us a penny, as ugly as it sounds. We kept quiet, we covered each other up, and we showed our worth on the pitch with football and balls," Hugo said at the outset.

Regarding the opponent in the final, he commented: "They're coming out looking exhausted and battered, but we have a reward: we're in the final. Keep your feet on the ground because we're going to have a great opponent up front, the one that plays the best football. We're going to prepare and take on the challenge with the same level of responsibility and high level of difficulty."
He later confessed that he was still in pain after the blow to his face. "There's pain. My whole face hurts, I have a problem with my nose. We'll look into it, but it's impossible not to celebrate. We've fought hard to get here, and against a tough opponent like Millonarios and with their stadium packed. Our fans made themselves heard, they cheered us on, and we're going home happy and thinking about the final."

Before leaving, Hugo left a strong message for the Cardinals' critics. "To the fans, I want to congratulate them for their love and support. Few have believed in this group, but those few made us heard. We haven't won the star, but we're in the final, and we have to give it a lot of courage. Up until two or three days ago, we saw comments and news reports saying that Santa Fe had no chance of beating Millonarios, but today, football rewards those who did the best. They had possession, but we got the goals. Now it's their turn to keep quiet; it's their turn to cheer for Medellín."
